COUNTRY REPORTS

At each session of the Committee, the NGO Group monitors the examination of reports by the Committee in presence of the governments in order to produce country reports on the discussions. These reports allow NGOs from the country concerned as well as the broader child rights community who are unable to travel to Geneva to receive unofficial summaries of the dialogue months before the official summary records become available.

59th Session Country Reports (16 Jan. to 3 Feb. 2012)

The 59th session of the Committee on the Rights of the Child featured a series of interesting discussions, with seven countries being reviewed for their progress in implementationof the CRC and/or the Optional Protocols. The following country reports, which were produced by the NGO Group, provide an unofficial account of the dialogue between the Committee and the State delegation and attempt to capture the key issues raised by the Committee, along with the corresponding responses by the State under review.
